IMRaD is a form of writing that is used during scientific and technical reports. This format talks about why and how you did the things you did to get your results. In previous classes, we have usually just looked at the results and wrote our report based on those findings. We would look up a topic and then search for points that we can back up and argue. Also, the IMRaD format uses section and tables in the writings. Previous research papers have a flowing format to it and usually contain no visuals. Whereas the IMRaD is all about displaying its findings in tables. Another aspect that is different is the methods section. When writing using IMRaD, the author talks about the steps they took to get their findings. In past writings, there have been no sections for writing methods because we just research the facts and not follow a specific method of research.
