Topic Proposal

Every college student enrolled in a university is required to take courses called "gen eds." These are general education courses. Students are required to take these classes to become a well-rounded individual; however, these classes may be looked at as a waste of time and money. These courses are very similar to ones taken in high school, so why would students have to take them again? I propose that gen ed requirements should be taken out of college degree requirements. I believe this because students could be using their time and money to take more classes to prepare them for their career.
