The commercial I decided to use was a Doritos commercial. I decided to do this commercial because I enjoy the humor of the commercials Doritos make. The commercial is set at a hospital where a woman is getting an ultrasound. Her husband is eating a bag of Doritos while the ultrasound is taking place. Through the ultrasound screen, the baby is seen reaching for the Doritos. The father moves the Dorito up and down, and the baby follows the chip. At the end of the commercial, the mother takes the chip and throws it. The baby is then seen kidding out of the mother to go get the Dorito. Mostly everyone, besides children, understands what an ultrasound is so the commercial is able to be interpreted by a wide variety of people. Doritos uses humor in the commercial to make the audience laugh. Making the audience laugh helps with brand recognition. The purpose of the commercial, I believe, is just for brand recognition. The humor of the commercial allows people to remember it better because it made them laugh. In addition to recognition, Doritos is trying to show how good their chips are. They are trying to show that their chips are so good, that an unborn baby is wanting to leave the womb to get one.
