This first source is an academic writing. It is a lab report style writing that tested a hypothesis over a period of time. This source has very formal writing, which is intended for readers in this field of study. I will use this writing to demonstrate the amount of time put into a lab report in this field.

My second source would be considered a non-academic writing. It is a journal writing about the changes in dentistry. The writing is informal so anyone would be able to understand the article. This article will be used to display a subjective writing style in the dental field.

The last article I will be using is similar to the first article. It is a lab report which would be an academic writing. The language is very formal as well. The structure also follows a section by section style to show the different parts of the trial. I will use this as a follow up of how much time goes into dental clinical trial writings.

Major writing 1 assignment.

The analytical report is trying to help the writer understand the types of writings and genres they will see in their field of study. Understanding the genres of writing in their field will help the writer have a better understanding of their profession. In the past, I have written papers similar to analytical reports. I was asked to understand a topic through articles and other research. After learning the subject, I was asked to explain to the class my topic and help them understand it.

Q1: Does each individual academic or non-academic writing need to be different genres or just different genres between the two categories of writings we need to find?

Q2: Is the report supposed to be about our major or the field of work we are trying to go into?

Q3: Is the analytical report an informational paper?

What is rhetoric?

Rhetoric is the use and study of written, spoken, and visual languages. It finds out how language shapes social groups and creates knowledge. Examples of rhetoric include allusion, simile, and personification.

Welcome to my blog
